My attempts at being a writer

How to start and where to begin? Should I put a question mark or an exclamation. These were small issues as compared to the bigger question of where is the content. From where would I get the content. I have always wanted to write. Though what to write on is a mystery. I asked a few people who were happily writing their way to glory as to the secret of their success.
Most writers would tell you to just hammer away at the keyboard. Just keep doing it every day and you would have a pattern and some flow coming into your writing. So I began yesterday. I sat down and stared at the blank screen. Hmm now what?
So I waited and waited and nothing happened. My mind had drawn an absolute blank. Is this the writers block? Is this what people mention when there is nothing that spills over from the rim of you brain and down your fingers onto the keyboard?
So I gave up and decided to wait for the inspiration. I thought maybe I should look for comedy in life. Somehow I enjoy watching comedy movies and also love reading funny stuff. Just thinking abt Asterix and his adventures gets me rolling on the floor. So I thought maybe I should start by drawing cartoons and then move on to writing as my funny bone would be tickled by the ideas and then the stuff would start to flow.
Well suffice to say that the blank page syndrome continued to follow me like a scourge. It simply amazes me to read PG Wodehouse and other authors like Agatha Christie. How do they do it? I always believed when I read good stuff that, it seemed familiar, something like I can write. It seemed quite simple and doable.
OK I said to myself, lets start with something small. Why don’t I write a small article? Then again comes the dreaded question, on what? When I ask this question to expert writers they ask me to write abt life in general or any topic which I consider as important. Some others mention to write abt my travels or my meeting with people etc. But I find that Im not as observant. I also notice the same stuff that is seen by writers but the way they put in words and express it is amazing. So that’s it for now.. I have to stick at it and continue to write small articles till my confidence
increases and I get better.
